【摘要】:Out-of-planestressanalysesarenoteasilyperformed.Failurecriteriaarevariedandpoorlyvalidated.Interlaminarallowablesarenotreadilyavailable.However,stressanalystsroutinelyencounterstructuraldetailsinwhichtheycannotignoretheout-of-planeloads.Thistestmethodisdesignedtoproduceout-of-planestructuralfailuredataforstructuraldesignandanalysis,qualityassurance,andresearchanddevelopment.Forunidirectionalspecimens,thistestmethodisdesignedtoproduceinterlaminartensilestrengthdata.Factorsthatinfluencethecurvedbeamstrengthandshouldthereforebereportedincludethefollowing:material,methodsofmaterialpreparation,methodsofprocessingandspecimenfabrication,specimenpreparation,specimenconditioning,environmentoftesting,speedoftesting,timeattemperature,voidcontent,andvolumepercentreinforcement.1.1Thistestmethoddeterminesthecurvedbeamstrengthofacontinuousfiber-reinforcedcompositematerialusinga90curvedbeamspecimen(Fig.1andFig.2).Thecurvedbeamconsistsoftwostraightlegsconnectedbya90bendwitha6.4-mm[0.25in.]innerradius.Anout-of-plane(through-the-thickness)tensilestressisproducedinthecurvedregionofthespecimenwhenforceisapplied.Thistestmethodislimitedtousewithcompositesconsistingoflayersoffabricorlayersofunidirectionalfibers.1.2Thistestmethodmayalsobeusedtomeasuretheinterlaminartensilestrengthifaunidirectionalspecimenisusedwherethefibersruncontinuouslyalongthelegsandaroundthebend.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.3ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Withinthetexttheinch-poundunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththestandard.
